2024 Impact Report: WPA’s Mission and Accomplishments
Dear Reader,
I am pleased to share the 2024 Impact Report for The Women’s Prison Association, highlighting our mission, our programs, and our successes.
This was a year of positive change for WPA: we saw major headway in the completion of The Rise, our permanent residential facility for formerly incarcerated individuals in Brownsville, Brooklyn; we saw forty women complete our workforce development program, preparing them for sustainable careers after incarceration; and we enrolled 495 clients in JusticeHome, allowing them to remain within their communities and with their loved ones and support systems. Every accomplishment deserves celebration.
This report also highlights the often-overlooked communities we serve, and the everyday changes we are able to make to improve outcomes and support those seeking help. No action is too small—every success contributes to positive change for individuals, families, and communities.
In 2025 we will mark 180 years of WPA, and with that, the opportunity to continue our incredible legacy while evolving to create a lasting impact. I am honored to be part of a team of hardworking, committed individuals who take the livelihood of their clients into account each and every day. While we honor our past, we are excited about our future. Thank you for your support.
Sincerely,

Margaret Egan
Chief Executive Officer
