Staff

Delbie Calix is the Senior Director of Care Management at the Women’s Prison Association, advancing WPA’s gender-responsive case management, community-based services, and reentry support. With over a decade of experience in care work and leadership, she has dedicated her career to the safety, healing, and self-determination of Black and Brown communities affected by the criminal legal system.
As Senior Director of Care Management, Delbie leads her team in addressing the complex and intersecting needs of women before, during, and after incarceration through compassionate supervision, meaningful guidance, and principled advocacy. These services support women facing criminal charges in New York City, as well as those preparing for reentry from the Rose M. Singer Center on Rikers Island and upstate prisons, and as they rebuild their lives in the community.
Previously, she served as the Director of the Survivor’s Advocacy Program and JusticeHome, WPA’s alternatives to incarceration program. In this role, Delbie led program operations and provided both strategic direction and hands-on support to staff delivering trauma-informed care and comprehensive services.
Delbie’s work is grounded in a deep commitment to promoting stability, dignity, and long-term well-being for women impacted by systemic inequities.
