As a strategic advisor and interim executive, Genia helps social justice organizations increase their sustainability, efficiency, and impact during cultural, leadership, or operational transitions.

She served as Interim Executive Vice President of Capacity Building for the National Immigration Law Center, Interim Senior Vice President of Finance and Operations for Race Forward, Chief Operating and Financial Officer at the Vera Institute of Justice, and Chief Operating Officer at Legal Services NYC. She has also provided strategic consulting support to organizations during their start-up phase, such as Women Building Up and Anthos Home.

A native of Pittsburgh, PA, Genia holds a BA in public relations/business administration from Howard University; a Master of Public Administration/Nonprofit Management from the George Washington University; two master certificates in contracts administration from Villanova University; and a Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification from the Project Management Institute. Genia also sits on the board of the American Vicarious and volunteers with the NAACP.

A former podcast host and improv comedian, Genia lives in Brooklyn with her husband, Jaymes, and their 2-year-old daughter, Skyylar.
