Miriam serves as the Senior Director of Clinical Care at WPA, leading trauma-responsive, survivor-centered care for women navigating systems of incarceration and working toward healing and stability.
She brings almost 20 years of experience in New York City advancing trauma-responsive, survivor-centered approaches, with a focus on equity, healing, and systems change. Miriam has led innovative programs supporting people impacted by incarceration and gender-based violence, with an emphasis on strengthening community-based supports and alternatives to incarceration.
Most recently, Miriam served as a Senior Policy Associate at CUNY’s Institute for State and Local Governance, where she led initiatives addressing gender-based violence and collaborated across sectors to embed trauma-responsive practices in higher education and public systems. Prior to that, she spent several years at WPA as Managing Director and Program Director of Community-Based Programs, where she built and scaled impactful reentry and alternative-to-incarceration programs.
