Kathy Curtis, Manager, Prison-Based Services

Kathy Curtis is a seasoned clinician and advocate with experience in community and correctional settings.  She has worked with adults and families, particularly those impacted by HIV/AIDS and addiction.  Prior to joining WPA, Ms. Curtis worked at Edgecombe Correctional Facility in NYC, providing individual and group substance abuse counseling to incarcerated men.  She joined WPA in October 2015 when she helped launch Project Start+, a transitional planning and risk reduction intervention for persons transitioning from correctional facilities.  Ms. Curtis was then promoted to WPA's Manager of Prison-Based Services.  In this role, Ms. Curtis provides oversight of all of WPA's prison and jail-based programming, focusing primarily on HIV prevention, linkage, and navigation.  Ms. Curtis earned her B.S. in Human Services with a concentration in addictions and is currently preparing to become a Credential Alcohol Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC).
