The Women's Prison Association
Founded in 1845, WPA is the nation’s first and longest-standing organization dedicated to serving women and gender-diverse individuals impacted by incarceration and injustice. As a leader in the criminal justice reform movement, WPA ultimately strives to make incarceration for women obsolete. WPA is rooted in New York City and utilizes a gender-responsive, trauma-informed model of support, providing justice-impacted women and their families with the essential services needed to remain in their communities, heal, and thrive.
